The bottom line is that this is the best 6. 5″ subwoofer that money can buy. You may be wanting to buy this woofer for a Jeep TJ replacement, which is a fantastic thought because this puts the boom into the Jeep and there is no extra amps or wires that you need, all you need is one woofer for the center console. Now all that having been said, the installation in the jeep is not perfect. First of all, you will need drill new 4mm holes in the box to mount the woofer correctly. Secondly you will need to fill in the the sides of the woofer with silicon. The mounting process is not hard at all, you will just need to do it your self. but like i said, the bottom line is that this is the best 6. 5″ subwoofer that money can buy.
Delivery was quick and best of all they sound fantastic when pumped loud in their encasement.
This subwoofer is very small but packs a punch for its sise. I garantee you that you will not find a 6. 5inch subwoofer better than this. the sound quility is fantastic even at high volumes. sometimes the subwoofer gets a litle disturbance whe it hits real lows beats but for the price i cant complaine
I bought one of these Pyramid woofers to replace the blown stock woofer in my BMW Z3 roadster. After 9 years the poly on the stock woofer had gotten brittle and disintegrated. I figured for $18 I would give this a try. In fact, I bought both this one and the $12 Pyramid woofer just to see which I liked better. First the pros. This woofer is built solidly and has a honestly heavy magnet. It will also mount in shallow spaces easily, like the 2. 8 inch between-the-seat box on the Z. It handled most music just fine, but it really started to show why it’s only a $18 Chinese speaker when you pushed it a small bit. With the bass turned up 1/2 way, and the volume on pretty loud, this speaker struggled with strong bass notes, popping and fluttering instead of punching. I was forced to turn down the bass, volume, or both if I didn’t want to live with the issue. Today I replaced the Pyramid with a Kicker CVT65 shallow mount woofer and I couldn’t be more pleased. It handles everything the Pyramid couldn’t, and does it with grace and accuracy. For only $40 more, the Kicker is a much, much better woofer.
Bottom line, this is NOT a fantastic woofer. Not even close. But, if you don’t demand much from your woofer you really can’t beat this for only $18. If your taste leans more to “Disturbed” than talk radio, you’ll want to avoid this and look for something that’s more up to the task.
