Like a lot of folks, I want to connect my computer to my tv to watch (and listen to) movies online. I called Apple and they told me that a mini show to DVI is the cable I need. But reading some things online and some reviews, I’m confused whether this cable transfers video AND audio or just video?
Somebody help me out so I can buy the item and give it a 5-star rating!!
I bought this as i want to use this for my Dell S2009 external monitor. I have a 13 inch Macbook pro. Whenever i connect my external monitor using the adapter, i lose my internet connection. I reported the problem to Apple, they still couldn’t figure out the problem. It is still not solved. Other than this problem i like this product.
The product works OK with DVI devices (when attached to a DVI-D cable).
All attempts to connect to analog devices (attaching a DVI to VGA converter or DVI to video) failed.
Don’t know if it is broken or not performing as I expected.
It seems that the extra holes for the DVI-I are not functional at all. You can plug DVI-A or DVI-I but they will not work correctly. I tried also to disable power saving in the video card as suggested in a forum but had no improvement. It is still not working.
Poor cable quality don’t buy it. If I could give it a negative star I would.
I bought this product because many who reviewed it said it would convert analog. It did not work for me, and since this was the main reason I bought it, I returned it. Amazon’s return process is simple, but I’m still waiting for a return.
